About

“Cultural Heritage Through Time” (CHT2) is a European project whose scope is to develop time-varying 3D products, from landscape to architectural scale, to envisage and analyze lost scenarios or visualize changes due to anthropic activities or intervention, pollution, wars, earthquakes or other natural hazards.

The main aim of the CHT2 project is to merge heterogeneous information and expertise to deliver enhanced four-dimensional (4D) digital products for heritage sites. CHT2 is working on the full integration of the temporal dimension, its management, and visualization for studying and analyzing Cultural Heritage structures and landscapes over time.

The CHT2 project was made possible by co-funding from the Italian, British, Spanish, and Polish research authorities in the framework of the “Joint Programming Initiative in Cultural Heritage and Global Change” (JPI-CH).

The JPI-CH action supporting the CHT2 project is Heritage Plus—an ERA-Net Plus project referring to the FP7—whose implementation involved several European groups with innovative proposals developing current cultural heritage issues, with a joint call launched in March 2014.

CHT2 resulted in one of the 16 projects selected for funding in that call.
