NCL

Newcastle University (NCL) participates to CHT2 through its Schools of Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CEG, Geomatics research group) and its History, Classics and Archaeology (HCA, Landscape Archaeology research group). CEG has established and pursued an ambitious and synergistic programme to place civil engineering at the centre of the analysis, design and management of human-technological-natural systems. The Landscapes research group within HCA includes specialists in later prehistoric, classical and historical archaeology, ensuring theoretical and methodological exchange and dynamism. Research focuses on the Holocene, with research across all periods from the Mesolithic to the present. The researchers actually involved in the project are:

  • Jon Mills, PhD (principal Investigator)
  • Ian Haynes, PhD
  • Sam Turner, PhD
